Babysitting Jaiden and EL consecutively

What a luck...

The aunty that babysits Jaiden fall sick. Not only her, but the whole family. All the family members experienced vomit and diarrhoea at the same time. The 2 other kids that she took care of experienced the same thing too. Not only that.... the whole family of these 2 kids also having the same sickness! Some of them were hospitalized. Yes, it is that serious!

We sent Jaiden to Ngo Jeh on last Wednesday (after the Raya holiday). When we reached her house, her husband came out to receive Jaiden as always. Uncle told us about the 2 kids' family's sickness. The elder brother (Ivan: 2 years +) were hospitalized due to dehydration. My husband was very worried, and decided to take EL and bring Jaiden home. He babysat Jaiden on Wednesday, me babysat him on Thursday. Since both of us are short of annual leave count, we took half day each to take care of Jaiden. On Friday evening, I called up Ngo Jeh to see if they have recovered. Ngo Jeh told me that she has recovered, but uncle is still quite weak as he has very high blood pressure. Since we are unsure how did this “disease” being transmitted, we have decided to get help from my sister for the next couple of days. We “migrated” to my sister’s house at Sg. Long on Sunday night. Since Jaiden has to adopt to new environment and new “babysitter” (my sister), I took another day off to accompany him meanwhile hoping that he will get himself familiarized to my sister and her house. It was quite tough for Jaiden on Monday. Whenever he sees me, he cried badly and showed his pity looking face to me – as if mummy is going to abandon him. No choice… the next day, me and hubby went to work. Luckily, Jaiden behaved on Tuesday!!! My sister was tired looking after him, but her daughter is very happy with Jaiden around. She helped her mother to take care of Jaiden. She is really a good helper.

However… my sister told me today that Jaiden began to show his true colours. He was quite agitated today. We suspect it could be due to 2 reasons: -

1) he gets used to the new environment and my sister, hence he become less reserve.
2) He was frightened by an old lady yesterday evening when sis brought him out to the nearby park. According to sis, this old lady looks quite scary – even my niece said she looks “hung bou”! This has led to Jaiden’s agitation last night as well as today. I really wonder how horrible does this old lady looks like….

My sister is going to surrender soon. Probably we have to send Jaiden back to Ngo Jeh tomorrow. Let see how it goes…
